HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BE GETTING WAXED?

  • Majority of the body requires 3-4 weeks between appointments. This can differ from person to person depending on how fast or slow your hair grows, but the majority stay within the 3-4 weeks range. Anything before this time may result in hair that isn’t quite ready to come out leaving you with growth in between. Anything after this time may result in a loss of brow shape or cause any body waxing to be slightly more uncomfortable due to the longer hair.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY WAX APPOINTMENT?

  • There are a few things you can do to come prepared for your visit. If you are waxing anything on your face and you are using a retinol, any alpha hydroxy acids (glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, etc), any topical or oral antibiotics used for acne treatment (spironolactone, doxycycline, minocycline, etc), or any lightening agent (Hydraquinone or Trilumena) please discontinue use 5-7 PRIOR to your appointment.

  • Wait two weeks at least after certain facial treatments like chemical peels hydrodermabraision and microdermabrasion.

  • If you are unsure how long you should wait before waxing please contact the shop prior to your appointment.

  • As for the body it is important to make sure there is enough hair for the wax to grab! Hair should be at least the size of a grain of rice for your first wax. The amount of time it takes to achieve that length varies from person to person. A good rule of thumb is to let the hair grow for 2-3 weeks.

  • To make your visit a little more comfortable taking an Advil 1 hour prior to your appointment can help and avoid caffeine the day of.

Henna stains the skin anywhere between 2-10 days and tints the hair for anywhere between 4-6 weeks depending on how it is taken care of at home. Each appointment starts with a consultation where the color and shape is discussed.

HOW DO I COME PREPARED FOR MY FACIAL?

  • Please discontinue any use of retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids, or skin lightening agents 5-7 days prior to your appointment.

  • If you are under the care of a doctor for your acne, skin condition, or you are pregnant or breastfeeding please consult your doctor prior to your visit.
